I Propose a Treasure Hunt. 5 Reasons for a Successful Proposal.

Last week I received an enquiry from a guy who wanted me to write a treasure hunt for his girlfriend after which he is going to propose to her. It is currently at the first draft stage, but I already feel that this is a surefire winner of an idea. Here are five reasons why:
Romance:
She will appreciate how much thought he has given to making this an original proposal. It will be intriguing without giving too much away but will hint that something unusual is still to happen at the end. A feeling of suspense backed up with the great surprise of being proposed to will surely win her approval?!
Familiar Surroundings:
Although I could have written this around a town or city of his choice like a Brighton or London treasure hunt, he has decided for it to be around his house. Initially I wondered how this might work as he lives too far away for me to look around for potential clue questions. This was quickly overcome with a selection of photos and a short video of the rooms that could be used as part of the treasure hunt. She will feel a lot more relaxed in looking around a place she knows compared to searching around a city.
Personalised Clues:
This will be a strong point of the treasure hunt. He has supplied details of key dates when and where they went out together. In addition, he has listed her likes. I have incorporated all of that into the clues and challenges that lay ahead in their treasure hunt. No-one else will have a treasure hunt like this and it will make it special for her. The clues will sound cryptic but mean a lot to them whilst the challenges will be slick and mini versions of dates they have been on before as a couple.
A Treasure Hunt with treasure: With a self-managed treasure hunt you can`t really promise treasure other than through the experience and the things you might see/do on the way round. However, on this occasion, due to the involvement of her family, it has been agreed to organise the finding of a bag of those gold coins (with chocolate in) at the end of the treasure hunt, just before the proposal. The production of a golden ring at the proposal is even better treasure!
Treasure Hunt clue twist:This may not always be possible(!), but on this occasion, by chance, I came across the genie from Aladdin in one of the photos of the different rooms available for the treasure hunt. Well...if you have a genie and a lamp you get three wishes don`t you?!! This is a perfect opportunity for someone writing a proposal treasure hunt to have a bit of fun...
