How Treasure Hunts Connect and Re-Connect You. A Black Cat Treasure Hunt Top 5

Posted on: 01/09/2021

The theme of this blog is all about making connections or, as importantly, re-connections through the use of a treasure hunt. Black Cat Treasure Hunts has put together a top 5 of the best ways this has been enabled through recent bookings.
1. Back In the Office: This company organised their first team social since the pandemic began. Not only that, they had literally only just returned to their offices that week. A treasure hunt was deemed the ideal soluton to help staff re-connect with each other. In addition it was a business with offices in  towns and cities other than Brighton (where the treasure hunt was being held) and, as such, was going to be a great discovery and exploring opportunity too and meet face to face with colleagues they only contacted by phone.
I anticipate this trend continuing for a while as companies tentatively encourage their employees back into  their offices. Whilst working from home has shown to have some benefits there can be no doubting the positivity of engaging with friends and colleagues resulting from this type of informal connecting.

2. Connected Brighton: This company was set up earlier in 2021 to offset the impact of the pandemic. In the words of its founder, Lyndsey Clay," Whether you are single, in a couple, new to the city, been here forever, just want to meet new people, expand your network or try new things then we have something for you!"
Needless to say, Black Cat Treasure Hunts was delighted to get involved in a small way by putting on the first of what will hopefully be the a series of treasure hunts in the city, designed to get people together.
Sunday 26th September is a date for your diary when we will be meeting up at Brighton train station to start a treasure hunt that finishes down on the beach for a beer and burgers meal within the price. Get your tickets by checking this out on the link below:

3. Location,Location,Location: A recent booking from a company moving their premises to Shoreditch from elsewhere in London prompted me to include them here. This team were keen to explore their new surroundings by using a treasure hunt as a vehicle to do so.
I have recently completed writing this and I think by using a fresh pair of eyes they will be delighted at the range and variety of things that they will find near to their offices. Connecting to a new location and welcoming their clients will be crucial for them moving forward.

4.  Ice breaker: A hen party booking used this term when booking a personalised treasure hunt. Organising a hen party is not a straightforward affair as the bride to be wanted  friends from home, school, university, work and family to be invited.  A treasure hunt in teams was felt to be the best way for the different groups to maybe meet for the first time to have a lot of fun  answering questions and taking part in challenges together.
The treasure hunt is going to be the first activity of their weekend which I think is a smart choice.

5. Long time...No See: This one differs significantly from number 1 in the sense that this company had booked a teambuilding treasure hunt back in September 2021. As the day approached the `R` rate rocketed and it was felt best for all concerned to postpone it.
As confidence grew it was re-scheduled for January 2021, but (and there is no real need to remind you!) lockdown 3 intervened.
Third time lucky sees this treasure hunt taking place very soon. I am not going to tell you the date as I do not want to jinx it, but as a way of connecting it should be perfect after all this time. In fact several new members of staff have joined this company since the original booking and this will be their first teambuilding event alongside their new colleagues.
By writing personalised questions and fun challenges for this group (they are quite an athletic group) I feel like I almost know them, but nothing will beat meeting them personally.
