A Diverse Way to Teambuild on a Treasure Hunt

When you get an enquiry from a company who have a focus on diversity training, you realise that treasure hunts have a role in all sorts of applications. Getting people together and understanding each other is an essential element of work on a day to day basis. The most cohesive firms have a mission statement that all of its employees buy into and work towards. On some occasions this is not possible and team members don`t always see eye to eye.

Discovering and exploring a new place and learning whilst having fun can be key parts of an excellent treasure hunt. Teamwork will be required to solve the clues and complete challenges. Different personalities come to fore at different times. The extrovert may be looking to involve the wider public to help or making proposals as to which way to go. A more considered person may be looking out for potential answers to the clues as they walk along. The creatives will always be on the hunt for interesting solutions to the challenges, whilst an organiser will be in charge of keeping to a time schedule.

Coming back to the diversity company it was interesting to note they actually offered their own treasure hunt as a training module for groups. The idea was to solve clues and travel to different places and learn about different cultures and ways of life on route. Black Cat thinks this is an original and innovative way to achieve this aim. Acknowledging that we are all different with our background (and culture) playing an integral part as to who we are plays a vital part in improving teambuilding.
